Every year offers critical leadership experiences: rewarding, exciting, uncomfortable and challenging. What if we could make learning out of them in a form of Questions rather than Answers? What key questions kept you, your team, your organization going in 2017?
These were my key questions for 2017:
1. Do Women Experience Leadership Different than Men?
I had the honour to coach a cohort of top female leaders at a leadership development program. We created a space for female leaders to lead powerfully and authenticly, beyond unconcious gender norms.
2. Can We Extend Collaboration Beyond Our Silos?
In this research project with a group of HRBPs we uncovered what hinders and what enables Collaboration across Business Unit structures. This work inspired me to dedicate my doctoral research further on.
3. In or Out?
How much energy should a leader dedicate to organizaitonal politics to be effective? This year offered a number of situations to learn to effectively deal with organizational dynamics.
4. Does Leadership Perseverence Come from Within?
I have encoutered some challenging and stressful assignments this year. Perhaps the capacity to persist and succeed in them comes not only from within, but also from the supportive structure that ones build around them.
2018 for me will be the year of COLLABORATION:
Not only as a core consulting practice and research topic. Also for important professional partnerships. More to come in the new year!
I'd like to thank you for the critical expreicnes you have offered me in this rich, intense and rewarding year!
Best of wishes to you and your beloved ones!
